I took the day off work to try to make some progress. Managed to cut all of
the square tubing using the angle grinder stand. This was a lot easier &
more accurate. I ended up with a large pile of steel.
26 August 02 (1 Hours)
I bought some more welding gas from Halfords and spent quite a while
getting used to the new argon/CO2 mixture. I then tidied up some of the
existing welds.
29 August 02 (1 Hours)
I welded the rest of parts H, the short vertical pieces. I then built a rough jig
to hold La, Lb, Lc & Ld (the front of the car) in place by using a bit of an
old
3" square post I found in the garden when I moved in to the house. I had to
do a lots of filing to get the tubes to fit.
31 August 02 (1 Hours)
I tack welded up La, Lb, Lc & Ld (the front of the car) together. I then
mounted some bits of wood on to the construction board to hold the front end in
place ready for the next part of the welding.
